Here I am nearly a a year later. Alot has changed in my life both on and offline. I apologize for the lack of updates but things should be much more consistent from this point forward. I appreciate your continued support. As with my last post I'll give you guys a small and unofficial itinerary of what to expect in the near future. Don't take this list as if it presents any specific timeline or chronology. Everything is subject to change.

1. History of the Ghana, Mali, and Songhai Empire every year. I can confidently say that this will be the most accurate depiction of these empires EVER. The data utilized will go directly towards our ultimate goal of making an interactive map. The mapping video itself will also be the most high quality, detailed, and complex mapping video in the history of YouTube. Sounds ambitious right? Well you'll have to see for yourself. We hope to have it released by the 24th of this month!
2. Patron request on the real identity of the Egyptians. Yes this will obviously be super controversial like another patron request that I fulfilled not too long ago regarding the true identity of the moors. I will provide visual, genetic, and literary data to draw my conclusions. Get ready for heavy toxicity in the comments!

3. More promotion of this website and its forums will come soon and in conjunction with merchandise that I intend to release in support of the funding of these mapping projects. The plans I have in  mind should effectively resurrect The Empire From Nothing!

4. More live streams. Though I have no immediate plans for live streams, I do want to interact directly with the community again.I am open to suggestions on how to accomplish that! In addition to this, plan to host a podcast covering African history as well as other relevant and sometimes irrelevant topics. Lastly I will make sure to update this news feed every 1-3 months tops.
So I've made alot of progress catching up with projects. I've managed to complete several of the items posted on last month's list. However I still have a long way to go to before I'm truly caught up with all projects for this channel. One of the main reasons for this is the sheer amount of time that I've been pouring into a new project and arguably one of the most ambitious ones that I have ever approached on this channel. So without further due, here is an updated list of what's to come including updates to projects that are awaiting completion:

  1. Two-part collaboration with Aztlan Historian where we will be covering an alternate scenario of Pre-Columbian contact between Meso-Americans and West Africans.
  2. Patron request on African religion.
  3. Patron request covering an alternate history scenario.
  4. Revival and revamp of my "Cities Built by Africans" series.
  5. Review of HomeTeamHistory's channel
  6. New SECRET project. (It'll be directly related to the interactive map!)
**Note that the order that these videos will be done is subject to change and will likely include other videos in between such as the "Misconceptions" series.
To those of you who have joined The Empire From Nothing, I just want to say thank you for supporting the community and helping to populate the forums! I know it's a slow rate of growth but don't give up on it just yet. There are good things to come very soon including a picture gallery which will display beautiful images of African arms, armor, and architecture as well as the biggest and most ambitious project in all of my time as a creator. The interactive map project! This will bring much more activity and traffic to the forums once its completed. In the meantime, I'll give you guys a basic roadmap of what's to come as far as videos are concerned

  1. Two-part collaboration with Antoine Bandele where we'll be covering 10 African mythical creatures. (including patron request for one of these creatures)
  2. Two-part collaboration with Aztlan Historian where we will be covering an alternate scenario of Pre-Columbian contact between Meso-Americans and West Africans.
  3. Patron request on African religion.
  4. Patron request covering an alternate history scenario.
  5. Revival and revamp of my "Cities Built by Africans" series.
**Note that the order that these videos will be done is subject to change and will likely include other videos in between such as the "Misconceptions" series.
So first of all, welcome to the website! This has been a long time coming and now its finally here! A place where the community and all of its creations can come together in the form of maps, forums, and videos all in one location, centered around the long ignored but infinitely interesting history of Africa. Make yourself at home and explore the website as it will have a lot to offer as it grows and evolves.

So I posted an video a few weeks ago updating you guys on my upcoming progress. Since then I've completed the Liberia project as well as an unplanned project where I discussed Disney's upcoming African princess movie. Now I am currently working on a collaboration with one of my favorite YouTubers. Epimetheus! We will be giving you a crash course on the history of the Ashanti Empire. I know I already did something similar but this one will focus exclusively on the history in a more organized and chronological manner.

My new team and I will also be working on the Interactive Map which will be a massive project and we'll try to release something soon. It won't include nearly as many states as the one shown to you in the previews before because we've decided to put significantly more detail. With that being said, each region will require lots of time and research to complete. Enjoy your stay at The Empire From Nothing!
